My lil Stoetkit always amazes me. I just love that little amp. I have several amplifiers, but I find myself drawn to the Stoetkit every time. Maybe it's the blue and orange glow.

I will say that the Sovtek tubes didn't do anything positive for the amp. They aren't bad, but I think the RFT tubes are better. I'll find some NOS Светлана tubes somewhere and give those a try. But for now, at least I have two sets of tubes.

But what I've realized is that the amp hums on the left channel. It's not the tubes, and I don't think it's my wiring layout. It's just a tiny bit, nothing you can notice unless your head is right in the mouth of a basshorn. Still, I'm wanting to look into it.

The demo amp was dead quiet on the right channel, but had a tiny bit of hum on the left. This is exactly the same thing that my amp does. It is so much better than the Paramours that I was immediately excited right away. But the perfect absense of hum on the right side drives to to find the cause of the hum on the left, and remove it.

I guess I really should get out the scope and get down to business. But I have soooo many other things going on, that probably won't happen for a day or three. So instead, I'm just thinking out loud here. Any of you have any ideas or suggestions?
