Overdamping the inside of your enclosure could partially be the problem with the lack of lower midbass and bass output.

Lining your enclosure walls with damping material and stuffing the box with polyfill will only hurt the response of a ported box woofer. You really only need it for damping high frequency output and cleaning up the midrange/upper midbass a bit. Unfortunately, you might have to strike a compromise between these two.
