Thanks for the thoughtful review.
You correctly stated that this amp is the baby of the Nelson Audio range, but is no "baby" when it comes to producing great sound.
What we have found with the Nelson Audio range of products is that they are sonically "audio bargains". They range from 8 watts to 70 watt monoblocks, more than enough to drive most speakers. They have great WAF appeal, as the images confirm. More importantly they have excellent audio quality parts, and are very well engineered. As an aside, Nelson amps ship with the tubes in...very few tube manufacturers produce amps and packaging that comes up to the standard of Nelson Audio.
I have decided not to sell these amps through dealers, but to sell them direct through MRTWOCHANNEL.com. This allows me to drastically reduce the retail price, and offer these amps that produce really great sound, at a price that is only equalled by other amps that cost thousands more.
In the past I have offered members of AudioRoundTable special pricing...so here goes again...I cant reduce the price of the amps, as they already come with FREE SHIPPING...( and even the "baby" SE8 weighs 26lbs)..but the amps sound great with the DeMarzio power cord..so till the end of APRIL each purchaser can purchase a 6ft DeMarzio power cord at $175, which is $50 off the retail price.
(BTW I only use De Marzio power cords in my personal audio system.)
