Those unfinished speakers I showed playing outside got the veneer treatment this week. While I was at it I cut discs the size of the ports and sealed them. just to see if maybe Villchur was on to something.

They sound so good I even commented over on Bottlehead where SET friendly is a constant quest. And a mention of Pi Speakers couldn't hurt.

Wayne, What happened to the 3Professional Matts mentioned with JBL 12" 2206. Gone?

These are very Studio 2 Pi like, 1.35 cu ft inside with the Vifa DX-25 but an Altec/University 12" Speakerman "donated".

I think sealing brought the woofer level down more in line with the Vifa and all trace of the boomy bass is gone but fingers plucking double bass strings are very clear.

There is a little "boxy" coloration: more with the solid waste A/V receiver and much less with the revised Dignity Audio 300B's I just received.

And ladies and Gentlemen, Mesdames et Monsieurs, Damen und Herren....

My New (used) horn -

A late '60's Conn 50H I won on E-bay last night against some pretty wimpy (or smarter than me) bidders
