They're awesome. Did you see the results of testing at the Prosound Shootout last October? Highest SPL, lowest distortion. The push-pull driver arrangement works very well for reducing distortion at very low frequencies. The heat exchanger does an excellent job of removing heat from the motors. Power handling is increased over 225% and compression is reduced. Driver characteristics don't change as power is increased 'cause the voice coil doesn't get as hot. You can easily see it in the response curve - the 12π response curve looks the same at extreme power levels as it does at low and moderate levels. Other speakers (even horns) have a pronounced peak that develops at low frequencies when power goes up, an obvious sign of voice coil heating changing electrical Q of the motor. So there are a lot of pretty serious advantages offered by the 12π basshorn subwoofer. And build quality is great too. I'm really proud of it.
