A couple of weeks back I discovered this nifty little (if little is the word) from Tang Band...

http://www.tb-speaker.com/detail/w8-740c.htm

Honeslty, I have been throughly impressed with the performance of this little driver so far, both from what I have heard about them and what I see on paper. By far an incredible value for $32.50... And they are Canadian, too!

Not only do they rock for use as a compact subwoofer, but I've also noticed that they seem to perform exceptionally well for P.A. use when used in arrays.

I was considering two enclosure options, both using four drivers...

1.5 cuft enclosure tuned to 37 Hz, two 4" ports 30" long

or

a 2 cuft enclosure tuned to 35 Hz two 4" ports 24" long

Both alignments toss out SPL's of 125db without exceeding mechanical limits according to my box program, and each array of four will obsorbe about 500 watts before mechanical overexcursion becomes an issue, with plenty of low end extension... That seems like a damn good deal, considering four of them will cost around $120 dollars...

What does everyone think?

Adam
