Lately (oops, I almost began with a preposition)............. I've been able to play a lot of music at fairly high volumes lately. I've found that some recordings of female voice and upper register strings sound somewhat shrill. I had the same feeling this past winter in a smaller room and "cured" it with a change from a Solen to an Auricap, same value: .47: Uh, that's C1 on the usual Parham crossover. Now I'm wondering if I should let it alone as most music sounds grand, or, change the value? Should I go to a .33? Is there another intermediate stop (I have a .33)? Could I try to bypass with a very small value cap like .1 or .01 (I have some of those, too)? In case you're not aware, the system is CD to Ella to Altec811B/806A/JBL2226J. P.S. Twin Towers, R.I.P.
