My 2002 3 liter V-6 Ranger has never done better than 22MPG on the highway and has generally averaged 18MPG.

2 weeks ago I began driving like I was 80 years old. Slow off the mark from a stop and never over 60MPH on the freeway.

I filled up tonight with 13 gallons that covered 293 miles of driving, about 60/40 highway/city. That's 22.5 MPG, a 20% increase.

That cuts my $200 a month gas bill by 1/5 or:

A 500 mile trip at 70 MPH takes 7 hours, 10 minutes. At 60, 8 hours, 20 minutes. Leave early and pocket the savings.
