I've recently been reading Fitzmaurice's book "Loudspeakers for Musicians", and I'd like some clarification/help.When he talks about driver loading, he says ". . . a throat will only fully load a driver if its cross section is less than one-tenth of a wavelength".
Anyone know what he means by "cross section"? Usually I think of area, but wavelength is length -- so I'm a little confused. Does he mean radius or diameter of a "round" opening at the throat? Or something else?
Any assistance would help. thanks
