This question is unrelated to Guinevere, but is about DIY preamps. I've seen a lot of preamps that place the selector switch in the back of the chassis. What benefit would this have? Whether selection happens at the rear or at the front, the signal still has to travel from back to front to the volume knob. I can see that it cleans up wiring a bit, in that only one set of wires has to travel back to front, instead of 2, 3, or 4 sets. Gar.
