I recently received a Dynaco FM-3 in for repairs that wasn't functioning at all. I found a few broken ferrite slugs in the IF transformers. After some troubleshooting, I found that one IF coil was REALLY messed up. There was no AC continuity through it and no capacitance or inductance that could be measured. I disassembled it to find the coil former had rotated in the base when someone had previously attempted to turn the stuck slugs, and the coils were partially unwound and the magnet wire broken at the connections to the base capacitors.

I have access to a small lathe to turn another identical coil former, and can simply wind new coils on it. But, I still need the 1/4"-28 ferrite slugs. Does anyone know of a source for 1/4"-28 slugs, or replacement IF transformers for the tuner for that matter? I've found #10-32 slugs, but not 1/4"-28.
