The Fostex 208EZ - Aurum Cantus - Altec 3182 combos have been running 5 days now. Essentially a clone of Olsher's Basszilla (surprise, surprise) with mid driver positioning per "The Edge" as posted elsewhere.Really a rollercoaster to equalize - a lot more peaks and dips than the Altec 515-G - Altec 802D/511B - Altec 3182 set-up. But this arrangement, unique among all combinations purchased or built for years, is much more revealing of detail.
For the first time, it's easy to discern the microphone changes in G. Gordon Holts' reading on the Stereophile Test CD #1.
