Can anyone help? I recently bought a Panasonic SC-HT40 home theatre system containing a receiver and 6 speakers. As well as sockets for connecting TV and DVD, it also has 2 games/aux sockets (L&R). I've also just gone and bought a Sherwood PM-9805 turntable with pre-amp. I was told that I could connect the two outgoing ports (L&R) on the turntable to the games/aux sockets on the receiver ... that's why I bought it. I can successfully connect the TV, a DVD player and a VCR to the receiver, and the sound is great. However, when I connect the turntable, the sound is extremely feint ... even at full volume. I've checked the turntable arm, the weights, the balance, the connections, etc. etc. but so far no success. I've also contacted three credible hi-fi dealers around town and they all claim it should work (ie. the sound should be better than I'm getting). Has anyone out there had any experience connecting a pre-amp turntable to an aux port on a receiver?
