Hi, I believe you will find that both are true. Features can be important particularly on the input side. Things like sample rates and types of files generated are IMO very important. A recorder that only does 44K at 16 bits and converts the output to MP3 files is IMO useless. I personally don't use anything below 96K/24bit with uncompressed output files. I generally use .wav files even though they are large. Other loss less outputs are fine as well. But with storage space so cheap now I like the long term compatibility of .wav. Just this week I saw a 2TB drive for $55. How can you go wrong at that cost?
