How you build depends on the tools and clamps you have but this is what I do, using braces cut on the same saw setting as the tops and bottoms to square it up. No fasteners, just Titebond and Butt Joints.

I just use dabs of glue to hold the insulation in place but I usually have to "convince" some pieces to stay put with 1/4" staples.
