I'm guessing on the SET amp, you're talking parallel output tubes, with one having phase reversed on the input and the output. Each tube requires its own output transformer that way. I haven't looked closely at parallel SET amps, but I'm guessing most run the tubes together, and use a single common transformer. Doubles power but doesn't cancel even harmonics. You're proposing a split-phase pair of SET's instead, yes?
