Really good post! Maybe you wouldn't mind bouncing a few ideas my way. I play music also and know the diff. between an old Fender Reverb and a new amp. I know the transformer requires good steel and a good varnish between the laminations. If you were looking to build a transmitting tube amp, where would you look for a trans, and what would you look for? What is your opinion of having transformers hand wound. Thanks much, J.R.
