I picked up a Pioneer DV-563A to try for a little while. I'm not too impressed yet. The SACD sound is not as good as the Sony I have on first impression. The picture, Although better than the non-progressive Sony is better but not as good as the JVC I'm also trying to replace.

I will take a closer look at the Phillips you mention. I went for the Pioneer over the newer progressive scan Sony because I liked the single disk try over the changer type.

I'm not too concerned about Redbook because I use an external DAC which sounds a lot better than the DAC inside any of these.

Bill
