Re: Need help on 4Pi speakers
Answers by numbers: 1. These speakers sound good even in very small rooms. I've had a pair in a small bedroom for years, and they sound great. It's also the size of the rooms at trade shows, which are less than ideal, of course, but our room sounds...

Re: horns for a small room

Re: Helper Woofer Location
The best approach for the helper woofer is to locate it physically between the main midwoofer and the nearest room boundaries. So you might want to put the helper woofer on the back, near the bottom. I sometimes call this a "flanking sub" app...

Re: College Dorm Rooms
My room was pretty small, so there weren't too many options. I just had my TV on a chair in the corner. Obviously it was pretty terrible, but at that time I didn't mind it very much. I'm glad I've moved on to more normal living conditions now though!

Re: 3pi, smaller cab possible?
I dunno, man, it is one sweeet speaker. I wouldn't mess with it. Of course, you can do just about anything you can dream up. But if you want the best results, you'll need to do your homework. Some modeling and testing would be in order. To tell ...

Re: LSAF 2011
I didn't get the chance to get around much. Regrettably, I usually can't visit the rooms as much as I'd like at these shows because I'm busy manning my own room. However, I did go to dinner Saturday with everyone and found myself back at the Found Audi...

Re: 2 Pi Tower versus 3 Pi
Wow, excellent review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it. It is very well written, and I might also say that I completely agree with your assessment of these two models. I find it comforting to see others perceive my loudspeakers the...

best choice for DJ studio
The need: fill a 12x24' foot room (separated by a partial wall into two 12x12' rooms) with a lot of volume for a DJ studio/practice pad. The music is mostly house/techno so bass is an important requirement. the budget: small (a few hundred at first, may...

Re: Where To Learn More?
The sound in a room passes through three distinct ranges, the pressure range (where the room is acoustically small), the modal range (where the room is approximately equal in scale to wavelength) and the reverberant range (where the room is acoustically ...
