Re: Will 7Pi work in my room?
If you have the right corners and room layout, then constant directivity cornerhorns are definitely the best option for you. If not, then DI-matched two-way speakers with flanking subs are the best approach.

Re: Will 7Pi work in my room?
Some people put constant directivity cornerehorns in rooms like yours along the long wall, and it sounds fine. But it does sound better when they're sitting along the short wall, because it brings forward the point where the speakers' axes cross. This ...

Re: The most optimal placement for a single sub
I always run flanking subs, except when the mains are constant directivity cornerhorns (that don't need them). For all other setups, I use flanking subs to smooth the upper modal region. It's the best way to mitigate the anomalies caused by reflections...

Re: Svelte 3pi
Answers under questions: "Does the 3pi crossover include BSC or not?" No. Please see the FAQ page for comments about baffle-step compensation on loudspeakers of this size. In short, the baffle-step occurs near the Schroeder frequency, a...

Best midbass horn and question about lobing
I want to get a midbass horn for the area 600-80 Hz (approximately). Will use subs below 120-80 Hz. I use an active cross over and can time align. My present top horn is a Klipsch K-402, at the moment crossed over at 500 Hz to two JBL 2226 bassreflex' (80 ...

Re: Asymmetrical walls for Pi7
I doubt that will matter at all. But you are right to consider the room symmetry, because that is important for constant directivity cornerhorns. You want the first six to eight feet to have unobstructed wall space, and to have no openings. You can ...

Re: 3 PI build
I needed to add the PI logo to the speakers but the black decals that Wayne sent me wouldn't work on my basic black color scheme. I stuck them to a piece of 1/8" mdf and used a scroll saw to cut out wooden versions. I painted them gold and then added ...

Re: How to improve?
I agree with the comments already provided. Constant directivity cornerhorns benefit from multisub installations just as much as any other loudspeaker configuration. There is some debate as to what individual loudspeaker configurations are least sensit...

Re: Corners and frequencies
I've designed constant directivity cornerhorns for over three decades, and the current configuration is the best I've come up with. There are a handful of competing priorities, some that you've mentioned like listener height and others too, like acousti...

Re: Corners and frequencies
Honestly, I'd not use a two π loudspeaker in a corner, because it wasn't designed for that and won't take advantage of it. I'd use a constant directivity cornerhorn instead. So my suggestion is to consider a six π, seven π or eight π loudspeaker, becau...
