Re: How to find the acoustic sweet spot in a room
Study the concept of uniform directivity. Loudspeakers that are able to radiate a pattern that has constant directivity make a much larger "sweet spot." If you have speakers that radiate a pattern with uniform directivity, and if you have the...

Re: LSAF 2017
So glad you guys will be there! Mike, I always think how ironic it is that you moved to Tulsa almost exactly when I moved away to Bella Vista. I had lived in Tulsa all my life, and started the show there. Back then it was called the "Great Plai...

Re: 4Pi answers
I'll embed my answers, interleaved in your questions: That's ideal. There are a lot of people here that run four π mains in all three front positions, left, right and center. See the link below for some examples. If you have an acoustically trans...

Re: LSAF 2016
π Speakers is setup and running in room 207! four π mains with three π flanking subs I brought my usual setup with only one small change. I'm running four π mains with three π flanking subs. That's a pretty typical setup for me. And I"m...

Re: Woofers and models
Thanks Wayne. Your response confirms my thinking. No use getting wrapped up in a 6pi vs. 7pi comparison. I'll likely convert my 4pi's to 7pi's, just have to build the cabinets first. Is it feasable that I could convert my crossovers to 7pi cross...

Re: Woofers and models
You're right about all your thoughts, but really, both six π and seven π cornerhorns sound great driven with 300B SET amps. You'll be please with either one. Constant directivity cornerhorns don't need flanking subs. But you still can't go wrong wit...

Re: 4 pi plan help
Sorry, but the 2225 is not suitable for the four π loudspeaker design. It's an excellent driver, and it can be used in the seven π constant directivity cornerhorn. It just isn't right for the four π speaker.

Re: LSAF 2016
I'll be there, as usual. I had planned to bring constant directivity cornerhorns this year, but I think I'll fall back to four π mains and flanking subs instead. That's my most popular setup.

Re: 7Pi plans
The tonal balance is the same, but constant directivity cornerhorns have an advantage in that they do not suffer coloration from early reflections like all other forms of speakers do. They are acoustically close enough to nearest boundaries to act as th...

Re: 6pi Mains, 3pi Center
That room will be perfect for constant directivity cornerhorns. Sound does appear to source from seated ear height. The midhorn is right about the same height as three π or four π mains on stands. The tower two π midwoofer and tweeter are in the sam...
