Re: The subwoofer volume and crossover
Hi Wayne, Curious about the flanking sub and distributed sub recommended crossover points. You're suggesting that 100 hz is good for the flanking subs and 50 as the cutoff for the distributed subs. Didn't you recommend higher crossover points a fe...

Re: 3 Pi subwoofer build
Increase the box size to compensate for the displacement from the plate amp. Braces are never a bad thing, though not necessary in this cabinet. But they sure won't hurt, and so while you're adding size for the displacement for the plate amp, do so a...

Re: input/output wiring of 3Pi subwoofer?
Excellent! Could I ask you for a recommendation regarding the plate amp? Also, I'm located in Ontario, perhaps you are aware of online shops here in Canada where I can find one?

Re: input/output wiring of 3Pi subwoofer?
Understood, thanks Wayne. So, just to be clear: what comes with the three pi subwoofer kit and what else will I need? (Besides the cabinet material and tools). Also, does a plate amp include a crossover or will I need to build a separate one? If so, can I...

Re: input/output wiring of 3Pi subwoofer?

Re: Crown amp
Another question on helper sub amplification- If I were to try and use my old Adcom 555 amp for a pair of 3pi subs, while using a low pass, line level 100hz crossover, must I apply some kind of high pass crossover protection as well? I have seen hi...

Crown amp
Hey Wayne! How do you think this class d (I believe) Crown amp would work for a pair of 3 pi subs? http://www.crownaudio.com/en/products/xls-1002 Instead of using an old Adcom power amp I own, and trying to integrate passive line crossovers and a ...

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
Your situation sounds very similar to mine, as far as space for the two front subs, and the waf! However, your sub sounds quite the opposite of mine. Mine sounds very muddy and bloated, even crossed at 100hZ. As I have said, it is a passive radi...

Re: Mono "flanking sub"
Hey Wayne. Are these self interference notches caused by reflections, the byproduct of being in a room, or would they still occur outdoors, in open space? About crossover frequency: Don't the 4pi's graph relatively flat down to around 50hZ? Sett...
