what does pialign says to 2x2118 sharing the same enclosure. Do you have the numbers at hand Wayne ? could be GarMan has run the numbers through the program. I know I won't get much bass even with corner loading. But how low do i get 70 Hz maybe. In a sealed cabinet (2x20L) they roll off around 120Hz.

I am franticly trying to get my system up and running again as - of last week - my soffit mounted speakers (with jbl 2226,2118,ribbon) has been trapped in the bedroom of my 1.5 years old child. Living with cheap PC speakers is simply unbearable - however due to space considerations I cannot move the monsters into my new - cut in half - living room.

Cheers
Andreas

I'd run 2118's as mids in sealed cabinets larger than 0.3ft3. You could run them as little bass-reflex speakers in boxes from 0.1ft3 to 0.5ft3 tuned to 95Hz, I suppose. But f3 doesn't get below 100Hz. PiAlign suggests 0.2ft3. For two drivers, double the box volume but keep the Helmholtz frequency at 95Hz.

thanks Wayne

I am running them sealed at the moment, really nice - but i have to ditch the jbl 2226 for a while for space considerations.

cheers
