I haven't finished the drawings, but it's really a matter of icing on the cake. The horn is done, the box tuning is done and the crossover is done. The prototype measured and sounded very nice. Now it's just a matter of packaging and aesthetics. If you have the Alpha 10 driving the midhorn, backloaded with 5.5ft3, port tuned to 40Hz and if you are using the PSD2002 compression horn and crossover mentioned in the "8 Pi with Alpha 10", you've built an eight π loudspeaker.

Just shape it like shown below so it fits nicely in a corner but also fits snug against a wall and you have it. It will be approximately 24" wide and 36" tall, have the tweeter horn on top, tweeter horn mouth edge flush with the baffle and with the midhorn edge. It will work best in corners, but is also quite nice against the wall or out away from walls; It isn't particularly sensitive to placement but imaging is better in corners and response is a little flatter too..

When plans are finished, will there be a Higher end JBL version,
and if so, what driver would be recommended? I have had no luck whatsoever in finding the suggested driver for the audiophile Pi's
midrange, I believe it calls for the 2123?

The eight π is designed specifically for the Eminence Alpha 10. The Alpha 10 has a couple things going for it besides its T/S specs, and those are its low cost and its ability to work well with low-power SET amps. I don't know of any other suitable replacement drivers for the eight π right offhand, but there might be some, it would just take some looking around. I don't think JBL makes anything with compatible T/S specs though.

As for the Audiophile seven π's, you can use a JBL 2012 instead of the 2123. The 2123 was nice for a while because JBL was selling a bunch of them at their online "Tent Sale." Those are gone though, so now you must purchase the newer version 2012, which isn't discounted like the Tent Sale 2123's were.

anyway i am not good at running number, i will just wait for the drawing , i have already bought the alpha 8 and i can try the psd 2002 on on pi 4, if the pi 8 are really good then i will buy another pair of the psd 2002 so both the pi 4 & 8 will be ready to form my DTS system
