I have been looking at the posts on altec, but have some unanswered questions. The woofers I have available are the 515 8G, (not very good in reflex setup, designed for horn on front, with reflex on back, like 825/828 cabs) and also 416 8c, much better for reflex. I found info on dimensions for the 416 b, and when I ran the figures on your program, I came up with the same figures. However, when I ran the 416 8C figures,( which are slightly different in a few regards than the 416 b), I came up with a slightly larger box, but a much smaller port? Is this correct? i can send you the numbers if you need them. secondly, do you, or anyone know if the 515 8G will work in one of your corner horns? This is the driver used in the exemplar, horn on front, reflex on back, quite sucessfully, and since your corner horn seems to be a reflex firing into a corner horn, I thought it might work, but I located no posts on this driver used in this fashion. lastly, what is the cubic feet of the theater Pi? Thanks Wayne, I aapreciate your time, Russellc

The Altec 515G (8G, 16G) works well in the Professional Series four π or seven π loudspeaker cabinets. Response is just what you want for home hifi, slightly overdamped, much like the curve that results from a JBL 2226.The 515G is suitable for use in vented cabinets from 2.0ft3 to 5.0ft3 tuned to 40Hz to 50Hz. The lower tuning makes the cabinet slightly overdamped. A slightly higher tuning is best if the cabinet is used outdoors or in large spaces. Note that not all 515 drivers have similar electro-mechanical specs. The 515B and 515C, for example, work best in larger boxes up to 15ft3 The Altec 416 needs a cabinet between 6 and 18 cubic feet tuned to 30Hz. PiAlign suggests 8.5ft3 for the 416, which makes is a good fit for the Theater Series four π or seven π speaker cabinets.
