I'm finally getting around to buying the parts needed for a pair of 3pi speakers. However, I'm a little confused regarding the crossover.

I've noticed that many (most?) use the Eminence pre-built crossovers and add compensation components to these. Is the pxb2-1.6 the correct one for the 3pi and which components on the diagram are/are not included? (I assume R1, R2, C1, R3 and C5 need to be purchased separately).

On the other hand, is it better to build the entire crossover from scratch?

Also, what horn flare is used for the 3pi?

Thanks for any advice you can provide. If anyone out there have a buying list for 3pi that would help a lot (I use Parts Express quite frequently).

Check out the kits - It's a little easier and the price is right [message #38920 is a reply to message #38918] Mon, 04 November 2002 11:10 Go to previous message

Before you buy, check the prices at the π Speakers shopping cart. You can order online with your credit card and you'll find our prices for the components are competitive. Everything is included but the cabinets and the wiring harnesses are already built for you so no soldering is required.

The Zobel woofer damper (R3 and C5) must be added, and the tweeter compensation components (R1, R2 and C1) too.

That's right, exactly.

It's the Eminence H290.
