What is the difference between a 1 inch compression driver + 15 driver; and a piezo driver with a large horn[rectanglar horn].

Eminence Delta pro 15 300w rms bass driver + Eminence pds2002 1 inch compression driver 80w rms + Eminence pxb2-1k6 crossover.

OR

Eminence Delta pro 15 300w rms bass driver + Motorola ksn1140 piezo driver + CTS 15 inch x 5 inch exponential abs plastic horn.

Also I've seen some new Peavey 2 way cabinets featuring 4 ports.why would a normal 2 way design have 4 ports.I thought only bass bins or subwoofers have that many.

I can't comment about large format piezo drivers. I don't use them. I use the KSN 1038, which is one of a family of devices introduced by Motorla for use above 3500Hz.

Personally, I'd totally go with the compression driver.

Even larger sized piezos may only go down to 2 or 3 kHz with authority. This frequency is too high for a 15" woofer to run up to effectively. Go for the compression driver.

As far as the ports go, well how many 'ways' a system has has nothing to do with ports. A 2-way system simply means that the frequency band is split into two portions, each diverted to different speakers. So a 2-way system would have a woofer and a tweeter. A three way system would have a woofer, midrange and tweeter. Etc.

The ksn1188 piezo does go down to 700hz and is remarkably smooth with a 5x15 parts express horn but the efficiency is no match for a delta15. It's about 93db and a delta15 is more like 100db so it just won't keep up. But there are other 15" woofers that would work very well with this horn.
But no match for a theater 4pi.
Good luck.
