There's not much acoustic music happen down there, but there's plenty of action in sythesised music. David Gray loves to play down there and The Crystal Method sounds completely different when you can hear all the low end info.
True, the Grand Piano has the lowest note outside the Pipe organ. I think it's an age thing, but now it's hard to distinquish very low tones, they seem to fade into each other. Maybe thats hardening of the Tympanic Membrane or something. My Anvil and Stirrup is creaky. Sub-woofers become unbearable at times. See what there is to look forward too.
True true; there are some low notes on the synth on my Zero 7 albums and Dusty Trails, which BTW is nice stuff. The soundtrack to Flaming Tiger Hidden Dragon, I notice goes pretty low. Have to try the two suggestions; what are they like?
David Gray is an English singer/songwriter who I would describe as having a neo progressive rock sound. Mostly acoustic and electric intruments lightly seasoned with electronic sythns.
The Crystal Methods is one of your better techno/electronica dance bands out there. Not your typical thump-a-thump music filled with gratuitius bass that you hear coming out from sup'ed up Civics. Deep deep bass in most of there pieces, but used with a lot of discipline.
I just celebrated (?) #58 and find myself really enjoying picking out the bass tracks on recordings. Love Jim Messina'work with Buffalo Springfield and Jim Fielders with BS&T. Ditto for Wyman on the Stone's SACD "Hot Rocks" I had cranked above 100dB last night. OTOH, I find myself asking everyone to repeat everything if there's even a bit of AC or fan or lift truck noise at work.
