I have a pair of Visaton 1-inch throat adapters for their Smith horn.

The round inlet is 25mm (1 inch) diameter, measured with a scale.

The outlet is 42mm (1-5/8 inch) horizontal by 32mm (1-1/4 inch). vertical.

The transition distance is 70mm (2-3/4 inch) face-to-face.

If you use the Westlake-style adapter this won't make any diference, of course.

FWIW,
Charlie

Yah. How long will it really take you to slap a couple of pieces of wood over the vanes?

The 1.25" vertical outlet seems strange to me. The plans for smith horns I've seen all have a lower outlet than inlet.

For example, the JBL 2328 throat adaptor transitions 2" drivers down to 1-3/8" height into 2397 horns.

That's why I posted it; on the off-chance somebody may find it significant. It certainly is diferent than the common understanding. The Visaton horn is 90mm thick O/A; by eye the height of the vanes looks at least 25mm.

Is this build going forward. I'd be interested in a pair.

Smith Horns look good for MTM type designs.

THanks, Scott Scholl
