Well; all the wires are soldered and dressed. I will not power up until tommorrow. I need to check all leads and joints and want to start fresh. I think the only possible problem may lie in those SS things. I mounted the LED's on a seperate strip with it's own ground. The heater supplies work on both tubes and I am pretty confidant of the PS. Time will tell.
I am going to use one of the gainclones to test at first just in case!
If there are no problems you will hear from me. If you don't hear from me send mass cards to Our Lady Of Lourdes.

Come on. Plug it in already. [message #30879 is a reply to message #30878] Mon, 07 March 2005 19:35 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Oh, yeah. No guts, no glory! Smoke test is the best test. Double check your wiring, look it over carefully. Check once, check twice, then plug it in and throw the switch!

(But shield yourself from the capacitors, no kidding. If something is going to go wrong catastrophically, it will be the capacitors. Resistors can smoke, and so can coils. But capacitors can explode if power ratings are exceeded or polarity reversed.)

Now that I've boosted your confidence, throw the switch!
