Having lost my taste for venering for awhile, and wanting to begin a paragraph with several prepositional phrases; ARE YOU LISTENING MRS. D'ISODORO? YOU BITCH! Okay. Whew.......
So I ordered this "Chinese Walnut plywood", sight unseen, $57/sheet.
Picked it up today. Thin but very attractive flat cut, book-matched veneer. 11 plies and just a few really teeny voids. A roll of edge-banding for $35 bucks and we're off to build.
You have to find a wholesaler that deals with cabinet shops, or, as I did, a cabinet shop that will bring it in for you. Don't bother with lumber yards or home centers.
This could be the be-all. Baltic/Roosian/Fiendish Birch has 'footballs' in both sides and needs to be veneered. This is glue up and finish.
Let you know how they come out.
