Hi All,

So - I have a stage 4 kit at home (thanks Wayne). I have built speakers before, recessed drivers, BUT: What optiones do I have for the edges? Last time I built I just glued the pieces together - then of course you see the full thickness of the wood - not really professional looking....

The plan is to use solid oak for the cabinets. I can get that quite cheap, cut to the right size.

Any direction on how to get nice looking edges are appreciated.

Thanks,

Roland

Simple is best.
Leave the sides 1/8 or 1/4" proud of the front so the baffle is recessed slightly.
Edge-glue a piece of thicker stock to the front that becomes proud of both the front and sides, then roundover.
Miter all the edges, then cut slots for splines.
Drill holes 3/8 in from each edge 4" apart alternating front and sides then pound contrasting wood pegs into them and sand flush.
