I have a DVD player on the fritz and I'm planning to replace it. Anyone have any recommendations for a good combo DVD/CD player?

I too am looking for a new combo. Which is the preferred brand to most? I just paid $70 for our old one last year and it lasted just under a year. I would like to have one that will last for at least 2-3 years or more.

You can get a sylvania from target for 70 bucks. I mean sylvania isn't all that great but It's not all that bad either. You could put in at least a couple years on that.

Check out Toshiba and Sony, They can get a little pricey but I mean if you are looking for longevity then thats the way to go.

Best Buy has a Sony Progressive player for about $40 that looks like it would work for you. There are more expensive ones that you could look into too. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to pay.
