Can anyone help ,I have an old marshall amp and have recently got a new fender tele.I am getting what i think is an earth problem,I get a buzzing noise when volume is turned up which cuts out when itouch any metal part of the guitar.Any ideas to cure the problem would be appreciated

Sounds like the guitar isn't grounded. Check continuity in the cable shield. If the cable is good, check the shield connection on the guitar jack and on the amplifier jack.
