These amps take 4 x 6L6GC tubes in the output section. Are these required to be a matched set of tubes? Can I fit a non matched set of tubes? DogNut

It will work with tubes that aren't matched, but it would be better to get a matched set. It will help reduce noise and may improve sound quality, particularly at high drive levels.

Thanks Wayne. I have a couple of TAD short bottle tubes with a rating of 60 on the plate? If I match them with 2 more TAD short bottles something close to the same rating would that go ok? I suppose the question is: is those short bottle 6L6GC tubes a raesonable choice for that type of amp? Thanks DN.
