Try buying extra light strings for your guitar. They feel better and thinner on your fingers while you press against the fretboard. I use extra lights. Strings bend easier too.

You're getting a good bargain! That's enough motivation for you to learn how to play the guitar!

What's really important is you take the time to familiarize yourself with the cords and take the time to practice remembering them. You also have to develop your finger strength to enable you to form the cord and hold it tight against the fretboard and develop your rhythm and strumming. When you get through all this, you will find out that playing the guitar is a very rewarding hobby! Smile
