If you think about Menno van der Veen, in his book "Modern High End Valve Amplifiers" there`s a schematic and description of guitar amp output stage, 4x EL84, ECC81 "split-load" phase inverter.
In my opinion, the best "guitar DIY books" are books by Kevin O`Connor. For example, his little book "Tonnes Of Tone" covers (in detail - schematic and wiring) guitar preamp, power amp(s), bass preamps, Power supply, etc.
Beginner oriented, simple, but with good projects. There are more books, not cheap, but you get good value for the money...
