Hey guys, I'm running a Schecter C1 Classic (no mods) through a 1996 Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. Ideally I'd like to have rack gear, but I'm after anything, a pedal or a rackmount effects device that can deliver a decent lead tone. The rythmn sound of this amp is great. The lead tone however has issues. I'm an intermediate level, just started to get into the tremelo picking stuff at a decent shred speed. I unfortunately lose all desire and confidence to play through the lead sound on this amp. I've come from using a GT6 for my distortion sounds, and can get some insane sounding shredding happening through that.

What can I buy to get a Petrucci, Satriani ish lead sound? I'd imagine a decent reverb would help alot. I hear alot about these "pickup boosters" would one of these help?
