Speaker replacement and problem with Laney VC30 [message #27104]

Hi everybody,
I've recently bought a used Laney VC30 112. I've just bought an Eminence Legend GB12 to replace the old stock speaker. Now putting it in the speaker gives a fuzzy noise on certain notes played, mainly Cs (especially played on A-string). Can anyone help, please?!

What was the problem? Was it not tightened down onto the baffle? Was something vibrating?

Two things: speaker has great depth, was too close to power tubes. Made them vibrate. And one had a broken solder joint, which was therefore constantly moving. Fixed the soldering and removed the card board stuff from the speaker frame so that I gained some space between speaker and tubes.
