Check out what Adrian Mack found on the Popular Science website.

Acoustic pressure/vacuum cycles from a loudspeaker are used to form a refridgerator. Check it out!

Hi Wayne,
I saw something similar in principle about eight years ago on a science progam. I was amazed by its obvious energy efficiency and ecological friendly function. I felt that something this ingenius, and that operates so cleanly, should be in a commercial product by now. But as usual, with our economic system and its wisdom, it just cost to much to bring to an established maket.
This device will not be a viable option for most consumers, since much of the consumers concience and pocket books are controlled by the bottom line. This higher priced alternative to the existing cheap refrigeration technology, has a hard swim upstream. I hope some enviromentally conscience consumers with the funds will push this technology, and others to the fore front so we can turn the corner towards a more pollutant free and energy independant system. Would I buy one, of course, if I could afford one and knew it was a reliable alternative. But, I guess that is the question most consumers will ask themselves when faced with the same situation.
End of rant!
