Has anyone ever heard of a company called Delta Sound ? They were in business in Worcester MA USA during the early 70's making horn cabs for PA work out of birch plywood. They were very similar to or copies of "Altec Voice of The Theater" TM cabs. I'm trying to find info on them or get plans to build a pair. thanks Bill Morris

Colin: I have some Altec 421a's and some JBL D140's kicking around to use...There was nothing special about the Delta Sound versions other than that they were very well made using birch plywood, and had great sound along with good efficiency. Alot of bands used these in the area in the 70's...they were tough to move though. I was hoping someone had plans or knew where there was a pair for sale. Thanks Bill

Colin: thanks again...I recently picked up a pair of EV HR9040 Constant Directivity Horns in road cases for the PA in my band. I'd like to buy or build a pair of A-7's to go with them. I run a pair of Boehlander Graebner RD-70 6' high ribbons on my home system with a pair of 'Mylar Mover' midbass panels (from an old "Speaker Builder"
magazine article), and a pair of folded 14'long /24" diam. sonotube floor firing subs running each a JBL 2225H. This is all powered by a pair of MC240 Macs for the subs and 4 more MC40's for the mids and highs (triamped) using a Berringer 3 way electronic X-over and a Mac C-28 preamp....kicks but for soundstage and power...regards Bill

Sounds like you are using this for "sound reinforcement" with all that wattage running those horns.
