While you are at it Wayne, there are some full range 8" JBL's for sell they are the 208 model---the sell says in the quality range of Stephens--Your thoughts sir??? I'm looking for 8" and 6.5" full range drivers for options to different cabinets Jim

The best sounding full range 8 inchers I ever heard were JBL 2115's. Shorting ring keeps distortion down below even that of alnico. Response was smooooth from 30Hz out to beyond 10kHz. You could really use them as a single driver, or with a nice super-tweeter. Sensitivity of 93dB made 'em nice with 10 watts and useable with low-power SET amps.

Last I heard, there were no recone kits available with 8 ohm voice coils but you could get 'em with 16 ohm coils and white cones. Look around and see if you can find an original pair that have the black cones in good shape, you won't be disappointed. Maybe David Miller at Speakerworks can find 'em but he'll complain if you ask him 'cause I always do too.
