I just saw this thing at Tiger Direct. No clue as to whether it's
worth the dough but it has solid 5 star reviews from buyers.

Is this just black box snake oil or what?


I figured you'd know a scam from an actual functioning device.

True that the software content is unknown, but I've put off ripping
LP's for a long time due to setup problems and quality of
sound. For instance, the review info says the software will
split tracks. I have Audiograbber which is supposed to do
that but it never worked right.

It's just an ADC designed to connect using a USB port. The price isn't bad, so I don't think there's any harm checking it out. Let us know what you think if you get one.

Well, unless there's a Krugerand inside it, anything that small
isn't worth 60 balloons. But it might go on deal at TigerDirect.

My home studio is still a long way from completion. A toy like that
would be somewhere in my future when the turntable is set up.
