I need to know what voltage the fuse shaped (1.25"x 0.25") bulb is that lights the VU meters. Also could use a copy of the OP Manual and Service manuals, the usual sources don't have it.

You've probably already looked, but just in case, have you tried StereoManuals.com?

You mean Rick Stout... Yeah when Mr. Bible thumpin' StereoManuals.com doesn't have it, he comes to ME!

The point is I don't have this one, so no he doesn't have it either.

You could always measure across the bulb with a voltmeter. Maybe you'll get lucky and find it's a common 12V bulb used in cars and other generic applications.

Actually I did that a while back, it measured 8.45 volts without the bulb in place, so it is an 8 Volt bulb. These are not too common, but the original bulb manufacturer apparently doesn't make then any more; a second source makes 6 Volt and 12 Volt versions, or at least those are the ones stocked at Mouser, who doesn't carry the 8 Volt version if still available. I did manage to get an 8 Volt fuse bulb out of a Sony AM/FM Stereo Receiver that had gone bad, and about a week later ordered a couple of dozen 8 Volt fuse bulbs on the net as backup. I also managed to finally find the KW-8077 Service Manual in Germany, and ordered it.

BTW, I now have one of each, a Kenwood KW-8077, and a TT-50. They look the same from the outside (except for inverted bezel and knob colors black lower bezel on the KW-8077, silver on the TT-50, and vice-versa on the knobs). But what I find very interesting is the electronics sections in both are electrically identical. The real difference is that the KW-8077 has a three motor transport, and the TT-50 a single motor transport. I'm switching the plug-in electronics sections in order to get the 8077 set working as it has an intermittant switch in its box, that loses one channel, and it seems that 3x DPDT Alps switch is no longer available.

Funny thing about this conversation is that I haven't seen a kenwood in some time now. I thought all Kenwood products had stopped being made.

I don't have Kenwood KW-8077 or TT-50 RTR service manual. I think it's a good idea to take a look at this site. I've read useful information about Kenwood products.

Hi!

Do you still need some manuals for the KW-8077? I have the schematics and parts lists if you want it.
