i got a sony tc-650 from some guy who didnt need it anymore, but he didnt have the manuals.. if anybody has any info on its operation it would be most helpful. it plays fine, but im not certain as to how to record

Try StereoManuals.com. They'll probably have your manual for a very reasonable price.
