I am looking for a new turntable to replace my old thorens. I have already looked into refurbishing it, but everyone I talk to says I'd be better off just buying another. I have both an amp and a reciever and was wondering what you all think the best turntable is for under $750? Thanks!

I imagine I'm in the minority here but I always liked the Technics SL-1200 direct drive turntable. Rega tables are also nice, and the P1 is in your price range. The P2 is just outside your price range so you might be able to find it or a P3 used in good condition. Also look at Pro-Ject tables.
