Hi all,

It is time for me to get a decent turntable and start buying LPs. My budget will be around 300-500$. Can you please let me know your suggestions? I am pretty clueless so any help will be appreciated
Thank you
nikolaos

I've never seen a table on Audiogon in your range that could exceed a new Technics 1200. One from Musicians Friend and a $100 cart like AT440 would be an excellent set-up.

A great upgrade path exists for the table with the damping trough from KABUSA as funds allow. Then perhaps a used Grado Sonata.

You can read my short article on tweaking the suspension farther down the road.

I second Bill's suggestion to go with a Technics 1200 for that price range.

This is what I can offer you go to www.needledoctor.com. They have a bunch of turntables you can take a look at and I'm sure you will find what you want.
