Hello Wayne,

I lost my plans for the 2Pi.
Is it possible to send the plan again?

Thank you very much and best wishes from Germany.

Frank

Wayne,

I have the "new" DX25 Tweeter, which is 2db "hotter" than the old one.  I would love to tame it a little bit.
How can I attenuate it?
Is it possible with a series resistor?

Best regards,
Frank

We use the DX25TG59-04, which delivers 93dB @ 2.83v, measured at one meter.

Which tweeter do you have?

I use exactly this model - but didn't you use the DX25TG09-04 before?
I have read,that the DX25TG09 was 2db less efficient.

Yes, we used the DX25TG09-04 before the current DX25TG59-04.  And before that, we used the DX25TG05-04.
To be honest, the whole reason we use a 4Ω tweeter is to get the voltage sensitivity up to match the midwoofer.  Not many dome tweeters are sensitive enough to "keep up," so we "cheat" by using a 4Ω part.

At 2.83v, the midwoofer gets one watt but the tweeter gets two.  So even though the tweeter is rated 90dB/W/M, it's getting 2 watts, so that increases SPL by 3dB.  Said another way, it's 93dB/2.83v/M.  That's still a couple dB lower than the midwoofer, but it's a pretty good match and it sounds good.
