Who's your favorite film score composer? I like Danny Elfman. His music can be both pretty and original. I like Chris Young, as well (if I'm not misremembering his name).

I always liked the Italian composer Ennio Morricone. Maybe his most famous being from the spaghetti western, Once Upon a Time in the West. The lonely stark harmonica that was the call of Charles Bronson before a shootin match. He did a lot of soundtracks for different movies over his career. Even the sci-fi thriller remake of, The Thing.
I enjoyed the music in The Nightmare Before Christmas, which Elfman scored. He's such an odd character, though. I guess it's fitting that most of his films are unique.
In my opinion, no one beats John Williams. Many top blockbusters are identifiable by his music alone. The music plays, and you know it's the cue that Darth Vader is coming. The music plays, and you know it's the cue that someone is about to get eaten on Jurassic Park.
