I should've put a reminder in my phone to cancel SiriusXM before it could renew my subscription. Unfortunately, two months went by before I realized that they were billing me for $22 each month. When I tried to cancel, the agent lowered my price to $9 per month, which is a big savings. I've been negotiating for a lower price since I first subscribed in 2014. Never pay full price for satellite radio.

That's the little game the subscription services of various kinds play. They want the revenue stream to perpetuate. So, they'll give you a grace period, then start jacking up the price after a while. I've listened some to Sirus. It's ok I reckon for genres of music. So, keep em' on your leash as long as you can with the fee.

They play that game all the time. I stopped getting the service over 3 years ago and they still keep trying.

Good Listening

The only time I would pay for Sirius XM is if I wanted to listen to Howard Stern. That won't happen because I can catch clips on YouTube. I'm sure I'm not the only one, which is one reason they try to bilk people out of as much as they can.

I'm paying $5 per month. I bet the discount is based on your area or something. I hardly even listen to it anymore, but it seems like such a hassle to cancel, and then they just spam you death anyway.

That makes sense. Metro areas with a large population will get charged more because people are busier and don't pay close attention to fees of this nature. While people in more rural areas pay closer attention and will call them and raise a stink if the rates are too high for them.
